Choosing a Venue for Your Portrait Session - by Pamira Bezmen Photography
Congratulations on your decision to book a portrait session with me! I am honored that you have decided to work with me, which I assume means you have seen my work and like it, and you have found something in my photography that touches your heart. I will be looking forward to doing the same for your family.
Whether we are indoors or outdoors, the main point of my photography is to document the love and connection in your family. I will use lighting, posing, and photography techniques to bring forth the precious connection of your loved ones, so that you can hold on to these moments for generations to come.
In choosing a venue, we have 3 options:
1. Studio
2. Outdoors
3. Home
They each have a slightly different look and feel, and they will yield different results. I will ask you to tell me which one you like the most, and we will coordinate our session accordingly, schedules permitting.
~ STUDIO ~
I have a home studio in Verona, NJ (for my U.S. clients), and another one in Bebek, Istanbul (for my Turkish clients).
The studio session is included in my base pricing. This is the most practical because I have proper lighting, a ton of back-drops, accessories, and a very sanitary environment that is warm, safe, and cozy, and comfortable for everyone.
You will surely get timeless, classic, and beautiful images from my studio sessions.

~ OUTDOOR ~
Outdoor Photography is lovely during the warmer months or even during cold times with proper attire.
The look can vary based on your taste, so here are some ideas and examples from my previous sessions I held at different New Jersey locations...
Some are more manicured and some are wilder, and I am happy and comfortable holding the session at either location.
Please note that some of these locations have wild natural foliage, so if anyone in the family has poison ivy or other type of plant allergies, make sure to take appropriate precautions ahead of time. Always check for ticks and mosquito bites when returning from an outdoor session. Especially with babies and young children, I always recommend changing all clothing and taking a warm bath with a mild organic soap after a photo session held in nature.
If you are pregnant, please always remember to care for yourself and your precious baby, staying hydrated, watching for your balance walking or standing on uneven ground, and always letting me know if anything feels uncomfortable.
The Verona Park, Patriot's Path and Passaic River have ducks, geese, and swans. Sometimes they can be very used to humans and approach us for food. Please always watch that a hungry bird or a protective new mother bird does not hurt your baby.
During rainy, humid, and hot times, there can be mosquitoes at some of these locations. Please remember to wear a natural bug repellent to protect yourself and your babies before the session. I recommend any brand made with natural essential oils like citronella oil, peppermint oil, cedarwood oil, and without synthetic chemicals. These will keep away the bugs without harming your baby's gentle skin with toxins.

~ HOME ~
As much as your lighting may not be perfect, and you may not have the tidy studio benefits, there is something so precious and magical about being "home" for your portrait session. If you like life-style photography and want your home to be in the images, I am more than happy to come to your home for your portrait session.
A $250 surcharge applies to home sessions, and any additional travel, parking, toll fees are added on.
Please keep in mind that life-style photography may have more of a documentary feel, and we will be limited to available light and architecture of your home. I have produced lovely images at my clients' homes, and will use all my technical expertise and artistic eye to produce the most flattering results.
